Photoshop Actions Tutorial Cartoon Effect
Learn how to record, save, export, and import photoshop actions plus make a cartoon effect action to use as many times as you need. Photoshop actions make it super easy to create complicated designs with a click of a button. Record the action once and use it over and over again.
Part 1 – The best images for the Cartoon Effect
The main focus of this tutorial is to learn how to create Photoshop actions. However, we will be making a cartoon effect to demonstrate how an action is made. The first part of this tutorial will focus on images that are best suited for a cartoon action.
Part 2 – Recording Photoshop Actions
In the second part of the tutorial, we will record an action. I’ll go through all the steps to making the cartoon effect and then show you how to export the action to share or reuse.
Part 3 – Enhancing Image Detail
Finally, I’ll show you how to get more contrast and detail in your finished cartoon image.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON SOFTWARE AND TOOLS:
To get the same effect I achieved in some videos you will need a drawing tablet. You can get some inexpensive tablets. These are the two that I personally own, both are very good drawing tablets.

In this tutorial, I am using Photoshop CC 2021. You may not have the same configuration in your version of Photoshop. Things get moved around in updates. Some of the features in this version of Photoshop may not be available in older versions.
